What you’ll do…

Sky Betting & Gaming are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Risk & Responsibility team.  The role reports to the Head of Risk Operations so you will be an integral part of the management team who are tasked with managing both business and the customer risks whilst ensuring we provide the highest standard of customer experience.

Our Risk & Responsibility team is made up of four main elements; Real-Time monitoring, Customer Due Diligence, Fraud & Risk Assurance.  In this role you will be expected to lead operationally to ensure all elements are working together to protect our customers and the business on a daily basis, whilst also improving performance and developing plans to ensure continuous improvement.  Through line management, of Team Managers & Senior Analysts, and overall leadership you will help create a team focused culture who are motivated to achieve objectives and KPI’s.

Additionally, you will be a senior point of escalation for a variety of account and operational queries.  Understanding the differing types of risks faced by the business, and how these are effectively mitigated, will be essential.

How you’ll do it…

As a Risk & Responsibility Operations Manager you will take responsibility for:

The overall management and running of the department on a daily basis; leading the department in meeting the evolving needs of the business.
Weekly reporting and insight; providing both statistical and analytical commentary appropriate for senior management.
Reviewing and challenging existing processes in order to identify and exploit opportunities to improve.
Critically assessing performance within the team to identify high and low performance; taking necessary action where required.
Representing the department in cross-business meetings to ensure that business risks and operational processes are suitably considered.
Supporting the Risk Leadership Team in achieving the strategic and operational targets of the department.
The complete ownership of escalated and high risk scenarios, ensuring that logical and justified decisions are made, documented and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.

Confident and clear communication skills which can be utilised when dealing with customers, internal stakeholders and when representing the business externally.
A sound decision making ability which enables the quick processing of a variety of information to facilitate fully informed outcomes.
A mindset that lends itself to working in a risk function. Experience within the gambling sector is not deemed a pre-requisite although the candidate is expected to demonstrate their willingness and aptitude to research and understand this field.

Working hours – 37.5 hours per week, with shifts generally falling Monday – Friday but with requirement to work occasional and evenings and weekends.
