The Dixons Academies Trust is built around the high-performing Dixons City Academy which opened 27 years ago as one of the first state-funded independent schools in the country.  In recent years, our family of schools in Bradford has grown to ten, and is now comprised of three primaries, five secondaries and two all-through schools.  It includes both sponsored turnaround academies, addressing education failure, as well as brand new free schools which meet the growing demand locally.

We have a solid platform from which we continue to build.  Dixons’ first school in Leeds, Trinity Chapeltown, opened for primary school students in September 2017.  Dixons Trinity Chapeltown secondary opened in September 2018 and will be followed by a shared Post 16 provision in Bradford next year.  We have achieved a great deal in a relatively short time, but such is the culture of expectation here that we know our greatest impact is yet to come.

Our mission is to challenge educational and social disadvantage by establishing high-performing non-faith academies which promote learning, develop character, value diversity and build cultural capital.  By the age of 18, we want every student to have the choice of university or a high-quality apprenticeship.

We require a highly successful leader who will support the Head of IT in driving forward the IT Service Operations function to enable an efficient service in line with the Trusts growth strategy. You will have a proven track record and evidence of successfully transforming IT services within a large organisation.

The successful candidate will be:

responsible for supporting the strategic direction of IT Services
a key part of the IT Management team and will support the Head of IT in setting the strategy of the future vision
a highly qualified IT professional and experienced in delivering and managing change within IT services
responsible for mentoring and transferring key skills and knowledge to the IT Service Manager
flexible and able to work across all our sites

Your main duties will involve: creating a service management plan that will be used as a formal agreement of the support services delivered by IT on behalf of the business; prioritise and maximise current resources to meet agreed SLAs; and ensure communication plans are implemented and enforced across the Trust.
