About the Role
We are looking for a Business Support Apprentice to provide administrative and day-to-day support to ensure the efficient operation of the office at all times.
We are looking for someone who is reliable and consistent and who will support managers, employees and visitors through a variety of tasks
Our purpose is to accelerate the transition to zero carbon cities.

We started this journey 10 years ago and in this time have picked up over 40 awards for design, sustainability, innovation and enterprise.
The next chapter in our business will see us deliver over 1000 new homes, offices, restaurants and amenities in the region’s city centres, which we aim to create some of the most exciting and innovative developments that we can.
Our latest development about to kick-off will see the creation of the Climate Innovation District in Leeds City Centre. It’s the first of it’s kind in the UK, and it will be a game changer in the fight against climate change.

Support a compliant working office environment adhering to archiving procedures, Health and Safety, Security, Environmental, Sustainable Development and clear desk policies to ensure working practices minimise any risk to self, work colleagues, staff and the environment.
Answer and direct phone calls.
Manage incoming and outgoing post and correspondence.
Booking H&S and professional development training courses.
Organise and schedule meetings and appointments including setting up refreshments and meeting rooms and any related IT.
Assist with arranging company and staff events
Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system.
Order supplies and consumables.
Co-ordinate travel and hotel arrangements.
Assist the Office Manager with day-to-day duties including regular health and safety and maintenance checks, assisting with HR and recruitment administration and new starter requirements.

You will be friendly, positive and helpful and enjoy working in a team where you will make a big difference in delivering a worthwhile change to our cities.
You’ll also be active, enthusiastic, conscientious with good attention to detail.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Good literacy and numeracy skills to NVQ Level 1 or equivalent
NVQ Level 1 in Business Administration or equivalent
Nice to have:
Good literacy and numeracy skills to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent
Experience of providing administration or business support
Experience working in a customer facing environment
Knowledge of first aid, fire, health & safety procedures
Hours and environment
We operate a flexible working policy for this role where it is expected that the individual meets or exceeds their objectives, but we aren’t prescriptive about times or days worked as long as the results are being achieved. The ‘usual’ working hours are 9-5:30pm but these vary from individual to individual.
We are designing and constructing new offices near Leeds Dock which we aim to complete by the end of the year. In the meantime, we are based in open plan offices at our Greenhouse development in Leeds.

We have achieved or have live planning applications for 3 highly innovative developments that, when built, will provide over 1000 low carbon homes, 100,000ft2 of offices, bars and restaurants, most of which will be constructed in our own factory to high quality and environmental standards.
WHO WE ARE
In order to achieve all of the innovation necessary to positively influence the industry, we need to not only grow the existing office team from 15 people to around 30, but to do so with highly motivated and passionate individuals.
To ensure that we develop the right culture that will facilitate great team results, we have adopted a sports team mentality. This principle governs how we hire and promote people who are able to demonstrate success through results. We don’t compromise on hiring people who could deliver technically in their role but would not be the right fit for the team and our values. We appreciate that people are motivated by working with outstanding colleagues who are given the freedom to do what they know best.
As well as the direct team, we also have a close network of colleagues, collaborators and industry partners that we work with for specific areas of work. We invest time in ensuring that these relationships are closely aligned to our own culture and that the relationships are based on a long term outlook.
We are in the process of designing and constructing a new office and experience centre on the side of our housing factory at Leeds Dock. This is due for completion later this year and will form the basis for our offices for the foreseeable future.
